Iran strongly supported India (Social media)
National News: As India faces new trade restrictions from the United States, Iran has come forward in support of India. Iran said that the US is using economic policies like a weapon to pressure other countries.
Iran has sharply criticized the United States for imposing a 25% tariff on Indian goods. It accused America of using its economy to control and influence other nations, including India and Iran. Iranian leaders said that such actions are unfair and show a kind of modern economic domination.
Iran also said that this is the time for developing countries to come together and build a strong global alliance that can resist such powerful countries misusing their economic power.
The statement from Iran comes at a time when the US has placed restrictions on some Indian companies for continuing business with Iran. Iran said that this kind of behavior from the US is an attack on freedom in global trade.
The Iranian Embassy in India shared a message on social media, saying that the US is using trade and money as tools to pressure free countries like India and Iran. They also said that these steps go against international laws and national independence.
Iran called it a new form of economic control, where big countries try to dominate smaller or developing countries using unfair trade practices. Iran urged the need for a non-Western system where independent countries can support each other.
In a separate development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. They discussed ways to increase cooperation between India and the UAE.
Both leaders said they were committed to building a strong partnership that benefits people in both countries. The UAE President also congratulated PM Modi for continuing as Prime Minister and wished him success in serving the country.
With this term, PM Modi becomes the second Indian Prime Minister to serve continuously for such a long time. Jawaharlal Nehru remains the only prime minister to have served a longer uninterrupted term. In total time served (including gaps), Indira Gandhi still holds the second position.
